I Wish I were a Cowboy

September 30, 2011

I like to take

walks.

I usually

take

several

every day.

And

whenever I

pass

another

pedestrian,

I give

him

or

her

a friendly

nod

and

a time-appropriate

greeting

(i.e.

good morning

or

good afternoon).

And I do this

partially

because I like to be

a

friendly

guy.

But my real reason

for

doing this

is because

I have this image

in

my head

of a cowboy

walking through

his

Old West town

and

when he passes

a woman

he tips his

hat

slightly

and mutters

“ma’am”.

And my walks

and

greetings

are the closest

I will ever

come

to

being

that

guy.

At least

short of

actually

walking around

in a cowboy hat

and

doing that.

Which

I do not

intend

to

do.
